Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Mindfulness meditation is a means to quiet and calm the mind by paying close attention to moment-to-moment experiences in a nonjudgmental way.

Once learned, participants can begin to feel joy and energy – natural expressions of life. Through this training, the effects of stress, pain, anxiety and illness may be minimized.

Qi Gong Meditation
For centuries meditation has been an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine. Learn how to breathe fully, observe and appreciate the present moment, and augment your body’s healing capacity.

Guided Imagery
Research supports the benefits of guided imagery in a number of applications. It has been validated, for example, that patients who use the technique in preparation for surgery have faster wound healing and need less pain medication.

Other applications include: relaxation; minimizing side effects
of medications or procedures; dealing with chronic illness; preparing for childbirth; post-surgical healing; and enhancing coping skills.

Watsu Pool Therapy
Watsu is a form of bodywork similar to Tai Chi that combines gentle massage and movement therapy while taking advantage of the healing properties of body temperature water. It works with body and mind to create a state of balance and peace. Watsu works first at calming the mind, then relaxing the body, and finally allowing the body to become one with the water.

Aquatics
Aquatic conditioning increases endurance, strength and flexibility. These classes benefit people progressing from individual or small group aquatic therapy, or who are ready for a new fitness challenge. The therapy pool also is open several hours each day for independent exercise. Our aquatic exercise specialists can design a program for your individual needs.
