Intensive Outpatient

This program benefits seniors, adults and adolescents who have psychiatric symptoms but are able to manage daily life in the community. Intensive outpatient treatment is often the next step after the partial hospital program.

Treatment is individualized for each patient. It may include group therapy, dual diagnosis services and stress management.

This level of service includes an individualized assessment, multidisciplinary treatment and ongoing planning for reintegration into community, job and family life, including referral to appropriate community services.

Specialized programs include treatment for people with eating disorders and those with a coexisting substance abuse problem.

Key program components include:

Multidisciplinary assessment

Individualized treatment and discharge planning

Individual and group therapy and psychoeducational groups, including stress management, medication education and substance abuse issues

Medical management for coexisting illnesses such as heart disease, eating disorders, and diabetes

Assistance with reintegration into community, job and family life

Family support and treatment
